Staff Dimensional Engineer

Our client looking for someone who can process measured data from Leica or Faro, analyze data and support root cause analysis.

| YOUR CHALLENGES

• Reports daily to Lead Launch Manager/Engineer
• Attend daily launch Line-up and Issue review meetings
• Responsible to have access to CATIA and Plant data reporting system
• Responsible to have knowledge of major dimensional non-conformances aligned to BIW Requirements and Finish Vehicle Build Book Requirement compliance
• BIW, General Assembly, Finish Vehicle:
  • Lead or Support the investigation of dimensional non-conformance issues
  • Identify Root Cause, document or confirm documentation into JIRA Root Cause with identified correction action, assigned responsibility and corrective action timing
  • Coordinate scheduled follow-up for defined corrective actions to confirm implementation is on schedule
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality, Engineering and Plant Quality the interface to the Suppliers for part or assembly dimensional information
  • Coordinate manufactured data analysis between Body Shop, General Assembly and Finish Vehicle for dimensional Root Cause assessment
  • Understand Platform, Bodyside Inner/Outer, D Ring, minor Subassemblies dimensional status and critical non conformances aligned with BIW Glidepath
  • Confirm BIW and Subassembly measurement plans, frequency of checks and data reporting. Get on data reporting distribution
  • Confirm measurement applications: CMM’s, Leica Tracker, Calipari, Checking Fixtures, Hand Held Measurement devices for data collection, Finish Vehicle measurement tool set, etc
  • Understand Finish Vehicle compliance to Fit Books and support Fit Book corrective action validation
  • Confirm Finish Vehicle check routines, frequency of checks and data reporting. Get on data reporting distribution
  • Maintain a living inventory of contacts within the Plant and Suppliers (document stored in Dimensional Engineering portal)
  • Maintain top 5 Dimensional Issues for BIW, GA and Finish Vehicle (coordinate top 5 dimensional issues with Launch Manager/Engineer)
  • Escalate issues or problems to the Launch Manager/Engineer that are not meeting the corrective action plan/schedule
