Sr. Cyber Security Expert (Automotive Industry)

TMC USA SE is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Expert to join an automotive team and play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of the vehicles and connected systems. As a Senior Cyber Security Expert, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential cyber threats, developing robust security strategies, and leading security assessments. This role is pivotal in safeguarding client customers, data, and reputation as a leading automotive manufacturer.

YOUR CHALLENGES

• Cyber Security Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive cyber security strategies for the automotive products and systems, aligning them with industry standards and best practices.
• Threat Analysis and Mitigation: Conduct in-depth analysis of potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities, perform risk assessments, and design mitigation strategies to enhance the resilience of client products against attacks.
• Security Assessments: Lead and perform security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning on the automotive systems, networks, and applications.
• Incident Response: Develop and execute incident response plans, ensuring timely and effective response to cyber incidents or breaches.
• Security Awareness Training: Develop and deliver cyber security awareness training programs for internal stakeholders and suppliers to promote a culture of security within the organization.
• Security Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure architectures for connected vehicles, infotainment systems, telematics, and other automotive-related technologies.
• Compliance and Regulation: Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and emerging cyber security trends, ensuring compliance with relevant automotive cyber security standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434, WP.29, NHTSA guidelines).
• Security Research: Stay abreast of the latest cyber security research, trends, and emerging threats specific to the automotive industry, and apply findings to enhance our security posture.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security assessments, risk analysis, and security incident response procedures.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other internal client teams, external partners, suppliers, and industry forums to exchange knowledge and best practices on automotive cyber security.

| WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in the automotive industry, focusing on cyber security aspects, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar senior role.
• Deep understanding of automotive systems, protocols, and architectures.
• Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, practices, and methodologies.
• Experience with automotive cyber security standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434, WP.29, NHTSA guidelines).
• Expertise in security assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and risk management.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or automotive-specific certifications are a plus.
• A passion for automotive technology and a drive to innovate in the field of automotive cyber security.
