Digital ASIC Team Lead - Philips

At Philips Medical Systems the ASIC team is working on the design of various mixed signal Application Specific ICs (ASICs) for biomedical applications. These CMOS ASICs usually perform sensor interfacing functions with a significant digital content. In a p roject for a novel and exciting application, the candidate will lead the team of digital design engineers and contribute to the digital design, working closely together with the analog and mixed signal team

| YOUR CHALLENGES?

Responsibilities

• Manage digital design team to deliver a fully verified ASIC ready for on schedule tape out
• Lead digital team of front end, back end and verification engineers whilst also making a strong
• technical contribution to the design
• Where necessary capture design requirements and specify designs for your team
• Take over and where necessary improve existing designs
• Oversee verification activities including test plan, testbench construction and debugging of designs
• Specify, evaluate and integrate IP blocks such as memories, BIST engines and SerDes functions
• including encoders/decoders
• Specify and work with team to ensure efficient DFT scan chain insertion
• Work closely with analog and mixed signal teams and assist system verification
• Work with Cadence design tools
• Reporting progress and issues to the project leader and customer

| WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Requirements

• Has University Degree (Master or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering
• At least five years of experience in digital ASIC design
• Fluent in verbal and written English
• Experience of leading a team and the ability to provide clarity from complexity
• A flexible can do attitude to deliver under evolving constraints
• The ability to communicate clearly and calmly with both expert and non expert audiences
• A proven track record in SoC design with exposure to all phases in the flow including requirements
  collection, design, verification, and physical implementation
• Experience in ASIC realization of DSP algorithms and functions for sensor interfacing applications
• Deep understanding of modern digital design techniques digital design tools including
  performance/power optimisation, VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog/UVM, DFT, digital modelling of
  analogue IPs, FPGA prototyping
• Cadence design tools knowledge is a preference
• Excellent understanding of verification challenges and the ability to support verification teams to
  achieve closure
• Basic knowledge of Mentor Graphics HDL Designer and Questasim and Cadence Virtuoso for analog
  design is beneficial
