Data Engineer - Material Handling Systems

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team and support our client in developing data intelligence solutions for their material handling systems. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying robust data pipelines, managing standardizing configuration files, and ensuring seamless data flow within the system infrastructure.

| YOUR CHALLENGES?

• Deploying and maintaining solutions to bridge the gap between the data intelligence product and customer needs.
• Deploying, testing, and documenting project solutions for customers, tailored to their specific requirements.
• Collecting feedback and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the existing standardized product.
• Automating data pipelines and facilitating further project implementation.
• Developing and deploying configurations to align raw data with domain knowledge.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary internal teams to develop and deploy products and project specials.
• Monitoring and supporting implemented project solutions at existing customer sites.
• Embracing collaboration in an international, diverse team environment with an open and respectful atmosphere.
• Participating in an agile team, contributing ideas for improvements, addressing concerns, and overcoming obstacles. As part of the Scrum methodology, independently creating stories and engaging in the refinement process.
• Demonstrating an independent and proactive communication style, taking ownership to deliver optimal solutions.

| WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• Experience in mentoring and guiding engineers.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in building and deploying complex data pipelines and solutions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and handling unstructured data; proficiency with event processing tools like Splunk or the ELK stack.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling and programming in Python.
• Experience in data engineering using DevOps principles.
• Proficiency in deploying highly performant and secure data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data schemas (e.g., JSON/XML/Avro) and storage formats (e.g., Azure Blob, SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience deploying services as containers (e.g., Docker, Podman).
• Experience in streaming and/or batch storage (e.g., Kafka, Oracle) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with streaming processing tools (e.g., Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming) is a plus.
• Experience working with cloud services, preferably Azure.
• Experience in building APIs is beneficial.
• Knowledge of data quality management and monitoring is advantageous.
