Commodity Buyer (m/w/d) - German & English

We are looking for a Commodity Buyer, fluent in German, based in North Rhine-Westphalia.

TMC Germany is a subsidiary of TMC, a Dutch international consulting company specialized in high-tech. Our German office is based in Stuttgart.

You will join one of the global leaders among the OEMs (Original Equipment manufacturers) in Wuppertal (NRW). Our customer has more than 60 years of experience in the automotive industry and operates in more than 28 countries. They have developed an expertise related to integration, design, Human-Machine-Interface, safety testing as well as modules and systems development over the years. To strengthen their team on site, they are looking for a Commodity buyer.

| Your challenges?

• Monitoring procurement markets with regard to services and goods
• Recognizing and evaluating market movements and trends
• Developing the purchasing strategy in collaboration with the specialist departments
• Carrying out offer management for the assigned product group
• Responsible for supplier management, such as conducting negotiations, placing orders and creating and maintaining purchasing-specific master data.

| What do we expect from you?

• Business Degree with relevant further training (e.g. business administrator (m/f/d)) or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the purchasing department of an international group in the automotive industry desirable
• Experience in working with ERP systems and MS Office programs
• Knowledge of cause-and-effect analysis and systematic problem solving tools (e.g. Ishikawa and 5W questions) desirable
• Ability to work in a team, flexibility and willingness to travel
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Native level in German is a must
