CAD Design Engineer

TMC USA SE is seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer with expertise in Catia V5 and V6 software to join an automotive design team. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing 2D and 3D designs for automotive components and systems using Catia software. Your designs will play a critical role in the development and manufacturing of our automotive products

| Your challenges ?

• Utilize Catia V5 and V6 software to develop 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings for automotive components, systems, and tooling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, product managers, and manufacturing engineers, to understand design requirements and develop solutions that meet technical specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for design improvements, manufacturability, and cost reduction.
• Conduct tolerance analysis and perform engineering calculations to ensure the functionality, performance, and integrity of the designs.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), design specifications, and engineering change orders.
• Perform design verification and validation activities, such as prototyping, testing, and analysis, to ensure compliance with design requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and tooling vendors to ensure successful implementation of designs and resolve any design-related issues during the production phase.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to CAD design and automotive engineering.

| What do we expect from you ?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience (X years) as a CAD Design Engineer in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in Catia V5 and V6 software, with hands-on experience in creating 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and surfacing.
• Strong knowledge of automotive design principles, engineering standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and experience in tolerance analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate design concepts into functional products.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Familiarity with other CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, is a plus.
• Prior experience with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) or Tier 1 suppliers is preferred.
